Reserve Cup 2025 at Puente Romano – a new international padel event coming to Marbella (18-20 September)

A fresh chapter in international padel is set to unfold at Puente Romano, as the resort prepares to host the first European edition of the Reserve Cup Series, just 2 weeks after the much-anticipated Davis Cup tennis event takes place. From Thursday 18 to Saturday 20 September 2025, Marbella will become the setting for a new sporting and lifestyle experience.

Reserve Cup Marbella marks the Reserve Padel brand’s expansion into Europe, following successful editions in Miami. This second stop in the 2025 Reserve Cup Series will see Puente Romano transformed once again into a world-class sporting arena. Two elite teams, each guided by star captains, will compete for a prize purse of half a million US dollars, the same as the Miami event earlier this year.

The tournament will bring together 16 of the world’s top padel players. Confirmed names include Arturo Coello, Agustín Tapia, Alejandro Galán, Miguel Yanguas, Coki Nieto, Pablo Cardona and Javi Garrido. The team format, with selections drafted live on the eve of the games, highlights both collaboration and strategy in a refreshing new approach to elite competition.

Puente Romano’s storied Tennis and Padel Club has long been a stage for sporting excellence. Since its opening in 1979 under Björn Borg’s leadership, and later guided by Manolo Santana, the venue has hosted Davis Cup ties, World Padel Tour events and many landmark matches. With this history, and surrounded by five-star hospitality, the Club is the perfect setting for an event that blends top-level sport with lifestyle experiences.

Beyond the court

The event will offer much more than thrilling matches. Guests can enjoy VIP lounges, curated entertainment, fine dining and brand activations. Partners include Aston Martin, Red Bull, Discovery Land Company and Sierra Blanca Estates, adding to the sense of occasion and style.

A proud moment for Marbella

Marbella’s mayor, María Ángeles Muñoz, describes the event as a significant milestone. She has called Marbella the birthplace of padel and sees the Reserve Cup as a chance to strengthen the city’s image as a global leader in sports tourism, bringing both economic impact and international visibility.

Gonzalo Rodríguez, General Manager of Puente Romano Marbella, commented that this partnership with Reserve fits perfectly with the resort’s lifestyle vision. Hosting an event of this scale is both a privilege and a landmark moment for the club and the sport itself. (prnewswire.com, resident.com).
